According to the Canasta rules of Play, a Canasta game is meant for between two and six players. The objective of the online canasta game is to reach a score of 8500 or to be the Canasta player with the highest score. The Canasta rules of play state that this game is played in several rounds, composed by picking up and discarding a card, similarly to other Rummy games. According to the canasta rules, the online canasta player is free to choose between taking a card from the discard or stock pile. A Canasta player chooses to discard or pick up a card according to whether he can use it to make a meld or not. The Canasta rules state that the player who manages to meld his entire hand will be declared the winner. So far, the online Canasta rules are similar to the rules of other Rummy games, however the card game introduces an additional element: A special set of 7 cards called canasta, which will reward the player.
